Kennedy 6, Clover Park 3

Kennedy used a big scoring attack to outgun the Warriors in a West Central District match at Highline Stadium Saturday, May 10.

Ryan Monson opened the Lancers' scoring with a goal off a Jacob Ambrozic assist in the 14th minute of action and Tony Armitage struck in the 25th minute unassisted. Dawit Kelete scored next on an assist from Ambrozic and Armitage and Jeff Piaquadio assisted Armitage in the 48th minute. Armitage scored unassisted in the 55th minute and Rudishi Muschett put in an unassisted goal in the 66th minute,

Mt. Rainier 3, Olympic 0

David Lugo and Bryan Murray shared the shutout for the Rams Saturday, May 10 and Abshir Ali got things started offensively on a Kevin Bodle assist in the eighth minute. Arnoldo Jose Orozco struck in the 24th minute on a Kyle Danielson assist and Darwin Jones scored unassisted in the 72nd minute.

Baseball

Vashon 11, SCS 3

Seattle Christian took a loss in playoff action Saturday, May 10, even with Andy Lessig hitting 2-for-3 with a triple and one run scored.

Fastpitch

Kennedy 2, Aub.-Riverside 0

Karli Merlich of the Lancers tossed a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and she also hit 2-for-3 with a triple and a double and one run scored.

Lindsy Dugan hit 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI.

Tuesday, May 13

Boys soccer

Kennedy 1, Eastmont 0

Kennedy started off its state tournament run with a shootout victory in Wenatchee last Tuesday.

Tony Armitage, Vincent McCluskey, Josh Lewis, Sean Miller, Malone Utley, Allen Gregorios and Rudishi Muschett made the goals in a 7-6 shootout win for the Lancers.

The Lancers' second state game was slated for Saturday, May 17 in Sunnyside.

Lakeside 1, Mt. Rainier 0

The Rams took a 1-0 loss in overtime last Tuesday, with Lakeside scoring the winning sudden death goal only one minute into the extra period.
