Burien Little Theatre to present all-female version of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'
Burien Little Theatre is presenting an all-female version of the rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” set in the future and featuring a live rock band.
Opening Feb. 15, the award-winning musical written by Tim Rice (lyrics) and Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) traces the final days of Jesus and illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit.
The musical follows Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem, the betrayal, Passion and crucifixion—and Jesus’ relationships with Judas Iscariot and Mary Magdalene.
The show features such legendary hits as “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.
It is suitable for ages 12 and over.
It will be performed at Burien Little Theatre from opening night on Feb. 15 through March 24. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $7 through $20, with a number of discounts available, particularly on the first weekend of the production. On opening night Feb. 15, only on purchases at the door any audience member who names the hill on which Jesus was crucified gets $5 off each ticket in the purchase.
Tickets are 2-for-1 for Date Night on Saturday, Feb. 16 and just $7 on Seven Buck Sunday on Sunday, Feb.17.

Under the stage direction of Steve Cooper and music direction of Julie Parsons and Heather MacLaughlin Garbes, the show features the diverse acting talents of Emily Beckley, Cherilynn Brooks, Eloisa Cardona, Ashley Coates, Sophia Federighi, Michelle Flowers, Jana Gueck, Kris Hambrick, Cara Hazzard, Mary Hould, Rachel Jones, Nicole Lockett, Alicia Mendez, Jennifer O’Brien, Kaylie Rainer, Anna Richardson, Sarah Schweid, Shaina Ward Siegel, Heather Ward, and Mindy Whitfield. The live rock band consists of Theron Andrews, Peter Garbes, Nick Hagen, Heather MacLaughlin Garbes, Darren Olsen and Anthony Pooley.
