BELLEVUE-Throw out the third quarter, please.
The Kennedy Catholic girls basketball team played Bellevue even at 30-30 for the first half of a state Class 3A regional game Saturday afternoon and played even in the fourth quarter, 16-16.
But the Lancers of Burien were outscored, 23-6, in the third quarter and came away with a 69-52 loss.
That ended Kennedy's season 17 points shy of obtaining the berth into the Elite Eight state finals at the Tacoma Dome that they sought.
Myah Williams led the Lancers with 23 points in Saturday's game against Bellevue that was played at Bellevue Community College.
Diondra Bourgette was next with nine and Kelsey Abrejera added eight.
Arielle Garnett and Jasmine Moore finished with five points apiece and Celestina Ramirez rounded off JFK's scoring with two.
