Police Blotter

Des Moines police officers responding to a report of a man yelling and screaming around 10:30 p.m. May 15 in the 21900 block of 29th Ave. S. discovered a truck at the scene that had been stolen in Kent.

Tuesday, May 23, 2006

The man who was the subject of the call could not provide identification, but when he gave officers his name they ran a background check and learned that he had a felony warrant for escape from the Washington State Department of Corrections.

An officer put the man in an arm hold, but he escaped from that restraint. The officer tried to grab him again, and this time the suspect fled on foot.

Officers in pursuit tased him, causing the man to fall to the ground. He got up and started running again, then was tased a second time.

At that point, officers were able to detain him. He was booked into King County Jail.
