Mrs. Anna Mae Eernisse went to be with her Lord on

Saturday, December 29, 2007

December 23rd. Born October 4, 1926, to Carl & Lillian

Larson, Anne was a proud Queen Anne HS Grizzly who worked

summers bucking rivets on B-17s during WWII. While earning

a BS degree at the UW, she met her husband of 58 years,

James Eernisse. The couple settled in Des Moines in 1954

and helped found Des Moines Gospel Chapel in Des Moines

and Lakeside Bible Camp on Whidbey Island.

Anne's five children, Marti (Morrell), David, Douglas,

Mindy (Sauerlender), and Daniel, thrilled her with 14

grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Anne's love for

her kids and especially their sports was so legendary she

was awarded an honorary letter at Mt. Rainier HS. Anne

never missed a game, even while working as head dietician

at Auburn, Maynard and Riverton Hospitals. After retiring,

Anne volunteered at the Des Moines Food Bank and enjoyed

gardening, hosting memorable parties, traveling to Sweden,

England, Hawaii, and countless trips to visit her kids

around the US, and chatting with her best friend and

sister, Alyce Sherrard. Anne will be sorely missed by her

surviving husband, sister, and four children.

A celebration of Anne's life will held on January 5th

at Des Moines Gospel Chapel. In lieu of flowers,

donations to Lakeside Bible Camp's TCL Cabin

(www.lakesidebiblecamp.org) are suggested.
