Empty bowls will help fill coffers of local food bank

Saturday, January 19, 2008

Moshier Community Art Center will host Empty Bowls 2008 on Friday, Jan. 25-its annual fundraiser for the Highline Food Bank.

Potters at the Moshier Center have teamed up with the Highline Food Bank and Discover Burien to raise money to combat hunger in the community by donating bowls to be filled with soup at this fun dinner event.

A $10 minimum donation will give those attending an opportunity to pick out a beautiful handmade bowl, and enjoy a simple but wonderful meal of soup, bread, drink and dessert donated by area businesses.

All proceeds will go to the Highline Food Bank, which serves over 750 local families every month.

Community residents are invited to the dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. at Moshier Community Art Center, 430 S. 156th St., Burien.

For more information, call Burien Parks and Recreation at 206-988-3700.
