An open house on annexation scheduled in Boulevard Park
Saturday, August 16, 2008
In response to questions about what annexation will mean for North Highline, the City of Burien will be holding a series of annexation informational open houses at various locations.
The first open house is Aug. 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church, 1822 S. 128th St.
There will be a presentation followed by a question and answer session. Refreshments will be provided. Supervised play activities for children will be available and interpreter services can be arranged if requested in advance.
On May 19, the Burien City Council passed Resolution 278, calling for annexation by election of a portion of the North Highline unincorporated area. Voters within the proposed annexation area will have an opportunity to vote on the annexation, most likely in early 2009.
For more information regarding the proposed annexation, visit www.BurienWA.gov/Annexation or call the Proposed Annexation Info Line, 206-436-5555.
